I need to send in my COBRA payment one week late, who should I notify?

Answer: You should immediately contact the health plan administrator to let them know you will not be able to make your COBRA premium payment on time. Failure to pay a premium can cause your COBRA insurance to be cancelled, even if you are only late by one day. Companies are much likelier to grant you an extension if you reach out and let them know when you will pay and how much you can pay. If possible, you can also make a partial payment on the due date and follow up once you have the remaining money.
